LightingShowroom.com Teams with FedEx International to Supply Custom Lighting to Europe

Boise, ID (PRWEB) September 7, 2009 -- LightingShowroom.com is one of the top 5 online retailers of lighting products and has been serving a growing domestic and international clientele of discriminating home owners looking for a full service supplier. Rosemary Wickowski, CEO of Light Styles Internet, LLC., said "We just finished a project for a large private home and we were getting ready to ship it when Kurt Krause, our FedEx rep, talked to us about going by air. We ship a lot domestically with them but hadn't considered serving large international orders that way. In the end it was a great solution for us"

Anita Turner, the LightingShowroom lead for international projects said "We routinely ship small international orders by air but in this situation we were dealing with a 16,000 pound delivery of very high end lighting products. We had a lot of worry about loss or damage, customs, duties, and the specter of stacks of paperwork. It was the largest single lighting package we had ever done and the logistics were a major worry. I'm pleased to say that the deal went off like clockwork." Turner said, "I had assumed that the cost of air freight would simply be too expensive. It wasn't cheap, but when I looked at all the problems of sending a container by ship it just made sense".

Kurt Krause, the FedEx Account Executive said, "I knew we could do a good job for them and I was happy to get the chance. It turned out that this was the largest single international air shipment that had ever been sent from Boise." Krause commented that, "Boise is not a major shipping point for international products so I had to do some extra work to make sure things happened the way they were supposed to, but in the end the combination of Lightingshowroom.com and FedEx made a slick solution for their international client".

Wickowski explained, "We turned the order over to FedEx on Monday and it cleared customs on Friday and was delivered without incident to the customer the following Monday. Exchange rates and the ability to cut through the complexities of the international paperwork now allow us to compete on a much wider stage than has been possible before this. We look forward to developing the high end international lighting marketplace".

Wickowski said "The foundation of our business is customer care. We offer good value in our pricing, but attention to detail, meeting the customer needs, and working hard to anticipate and prevent problems is really what we are about. Value is the combination of quality products, fair pricing, and best in class customer care. Those are the things we work on all the time." She commented that "There have been large numbers of websites that have begun offering lighting products since the economic crisis hit us all. Many approach the market with the idea that all you have to do is have the lowest price. We have found that our focus on the entire customer experience brings us loyal repeat customers and great word of mouth support which allows us to remain one of the top 5 lighting retailers despite greatly increased competition and a difficult housing market."
