Anita's Pick of the Week

While just about "everybody" is doing it, not everybody is doing it right! Fixtures with a filigree or pattern shades are all of the rage right now and you can find a family or collection of them from just about all of the lighting manufacturers out there today.

Having seen most of them, I must say that the Phillipe from Corbett is by far and above the best!

This design is hard to achieve and most of the fixtures in this style out there are made from a very thin metal that is laser cut and can bend or be pushed out of shape easily. This is not the case with the Corbett fixtures.

The frame is a nice, heavy metal that is quite thick for this style and is very well made. The filigree is not too thin or intricate as to overtake the design of the light and the glass on the inside has a high gloss and a subtle warm glow giving this light that extra something to take it over the top.

While it is a bit on the contemporary side I think it would look great in any transitional setting as well or even a traditional home if you went with the bronze version which is much warmer than the silver.

Of course, Corbett is a high end brand and so at just over $400 each these are a bit on the pricey side but, as they say - "you get what you pay for" and in this case it is definitely true. These are elegant, well made fixtures that will add a warm glow with a touch of class to any home!
