I really like this light - it is very unique and looks great in my kitchen. However, it is definitely NOT glass - it is made of plastic, which has me concerned a bit about its longevity (will it yellow with age?). But because I like it so much, and can't find a comparable option, I'll keep it anyhow, realizing it may have to be replaced years from now.

These modern optical resins are far more stable than the products used a few years ago. They do not tend to change chemically like older products so they hold their quality much better. Not as stable as glass it is true but also less expensive.
