300 watts of light max, we put a dimmer switch on. Really looks good up, easy to install, good communication by seller, they let me know it would take a few extra days to ship - no big deal. Has a diffuser glass plate on the bottom that screws on. Good thing too as I had a dinner party and one of the bulbs that came with it blew up but was contained inside. Have been really happy with purchase
